Bob:
So were you setting Gaylon straight?
Gaylon’s daughter said something along the lines of our “making sweet music,” but I think setting Gaylon straight will suffice, as I was probably doing that, too!
And yes, Gaylon was more than thrilled when I pointed out that his song was in the top ten (over on Pure AI Radio). I think he is pretty stoked by it all!

Born in Nashville, raised in Houston, and currently living in Tyler, Texas, in the Deep East Texas Piney Woods, Cheryl came to music rather late in life, after her family was grown and gone and her working years were behind her.
In 2018, she found herself a widow needing some way to deal with the loss of her husband of 48 years. Writing poems to her husband, and about him, and about Heaven and what it was like for him being there, she just kept writing.
One of her sons sent one of her poems off to a recording studio to see if might make a song, and it did make a song (sort of). So she sent another, then another, until she had her first mini album of six simple hymns, a memento she thought, for the family, and that would be the end of it. But the words just kept coming, and the songs, and (she says) "as long as the Lord keeps sending the words, I will try to keep writing the lyrics, even though I know nothing about writing or about music, but I will write because I feel that it is what I should be doing.
This is probably one of those instances of His not calling the qualified, but qualifying the called, or not my ability, but my availability."
Now 30 months later, she has about 30 songs on Spotify and on the usual streaming platforms. She has spent that time developing her own style of writing, mostly noted as storytelling, and in addition to writing Christian-themed songs.
She also writes Country songs, mostly light-hearted (she likes Texas!), but one more slightly serious Country song for which she signed a Sync Agreement. She has also written Americana and Bluegrass songs, but whatever she writes, it is through the lens of faith and gratitude. She recently signed a Publishing Agreement for a faith-based Children's picture book which will include one of her recently released songs "On My Way Home."
Not being musically inclined herself, Cheryl attributes any success she may have, mostly to God for giving her this precious opportunity to write and express herself, but also to the talented musicians and vocalists that God has put in her path to help her bring her words to life, and now to a new friend, Gaylon Weaver, who has come along side her to help her with graphics, PC technology, and now, AI ! (She says that) "without Gaylon's help, none of her songs would be heard on this station! And she says that she feels blessed beyond what words can express!
